Welcome to 218's site providing information on the Victorian Lodge of Research.
These pages seek to reach out to various online audiences with the Victorian Lodge of Research's offerings. I am currently (June-July 2008) in the process of moving the official site to this one - so ask for your indulgence during this changover period. The details herein should, however, be correct.
The Victorian Lodge of Research • 218 has long claimed for itself the following dedication and, in my personal opinion, successfully meets the challenges these present:
The lodge is dedicated to Masonic research and the diffusion of Masonic knowledge; it seeks to uphold the great tradition of the Craft and the promotion of interest in all that constitutes Freemasonry. It sets no limits to its research, except it be within masonic bounds; it addresses the problems that confront the Craft today and confronts the challenge of the future. Finally, the Lodge holds the view that, in the ultimate interests of the craft, no opinion be stifled, provided it be advanced in the true masonic spirit.
'218', as we affectionately refer to our research Lodge, offers a spirit of pleasurable engagement in furthering the Light that is Freemasonry. If in Melbourne, consider attending and judging for yourself. If the length of your Masonic cabletow prevents attendance, consider the Correspondence Circle.

Discussion Forum
A new development on this site is the establishment of a discussion forum. To be opened for the needs of the Certificate and Diploma courses, areas that remain hidden to non-participants, it is hoped that the general area becomes of usefulness to all Freemasons:
